This is an Executive Agency of the MOD. It provides services to war disablement pensioners, war widows, their dependants and carers and other veterans; in recognition of the many extraordinary and unique personal sacrifices made in defence of the nation.

Open to all ranks of HM Forces, whether serving or retired, the aims of the Society are to procure, where equitable, improvements in the Armed Forces Pension Scheme for members of the Society, their widows, widowers and dependants, and to advise and assist them on Service Retired Pay and Service pension problems.

The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading charity safeguarding the welfare, interests and memory of those who have served in the Armed Forces and their dependants. It provides financial, social and emotional support to millions and its benevolence spans all age groups from the oldest to the very young.

Royal Engineers Benevolence is a fund aimed at looking after those, former Sappers, their wives or widows and their dependant children who are in need of benevolence (defined as "severe financial distress").

As a rule the Fund do not repay debts or for funerals. It usually provides benefits to elderly pensioners or families with disabled children.

The Army Benevolent Fund is committed to the welfare of Regular and Territorial Army personnel, those who are no longer serving, and their families, when they are in real need.
