Royal Engineers Association

REA BadgeIn 1909 a few serving and retired warrant officers and senior NCOs formed themselves into an association for the purpose of holding an annual reunion in London for all ranks.

Due to the success of these meetings it was decided in 1912 to form the Royal Engineers Old Comrades Association for all retired members of the Corps. In 1952 the title was changed to the Royal Engineers Association (REA).

Its mission is: To maintain the objects of the Association by promoting and supporting the Corps, affording assistance to its members and their dependants, and making donations to Army charities.

Its motto: "Service Not Self".
